Joining The Team First, thank you for your interest in joining our team. We value every member and hope that our program will be a good fit for both you and the team. The team is for juniors 18 & under. We will carry U23 riders, but they must be riders who have graduated from our program and who want to remain a part of our organization.
We are a racing team designed to support junior racers. If you do not think you can commit the time and efforts to racing, you should look elsewhere. We compete in Cyclocross, Road, Mountain Bike and Track Racing. We require all members to have fun! If you are not having fun and are doing this for dad, you need to go do something else. Results are not the most important thing on our team. We like good results, but having fun is priority #1! If you love riding your bike and have the desire to compete, we believe we are a great team for you to join.
What You Can Expect: You can expect to be supported by the team as much as possible. Support can be defined in many ways, but the bottom line is that management tries it’s best to lend support in many different areas. The team sets up sponsorship deals that are designed to help lower your racing costs by providing you with deals on product. The team supplies mechanical support at selected events. The team sets up a central camp area at many major events for you to get ready, warm up and hang with your teammates. The team does it’s best to give racing support and direction through skills training and advise. The team provides training options designed to help you learn how to train smart and get results. The team has training rides on most weekends when there are no races going on. The team provides training camps throughout the year designed to teach riding and training skills. Most importantly, the team provides a place for juniors to race with juniors and a place to make new friendships that may last a life time.
What we expect We expect you to have fun. We expect you to participate in races, team rides, team camps and team functions whenever possible. We also understand that you may have other commitments that may not allow you to be there all the time. Family and school are always priority number one. We expect you to volunteer from time to time to help the team out. We expect all team members to lend a hand setting up or taking down the team central camp area when possible. If you race Cyclocross, we expect you to volunteer course marshalling time as we are the course marshals at all Seattle Cyclocross events. We expect you to respect your teammates, volunteers, the promoters, and officials.
We expect you to represent the team in a professional manner anytime you are representing the team as your conduct reflects on the team, management, your parents, yourself and most importantly, our sponsors.
Team Geographical Zone Team members are located throughout Washington State to include Wenatchee, Bellingham to Tacoma.
How to Join Once you have made the decision to investigate joining our team, please contact the team director, Jerry Cutright, at ascracing1@yahoo.com. After you have contacted Jerry, he will then ask to set up a time for himself and maybe another manager to meet with you and your parents. The meeting is designed to give Jerry a chance to present the team, the team’s expectations and to make sure the team and you are a good fit.
